DAY 01:
ARRIVAL IN MAUMERE (_, L, D)
You’ll be met at the airport as part of Kampung Expeditions’ service and then visit Watublapi village. This hamlet’s beautiful hillside location is surrounded by exotic tropical plants and it is here that you can see local women produce ikat weaving, and attend a traditional dance performance.
DAY 02:
MAUMERE – MONI (B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit the market and Ledalero Museum, and also Sikka Village, noted for its Portuguese church and ikat weavings. Then its on to Paga beach for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Lio tribal houses, such as those at Ranggase village, and see ikat weaving. Dinner and overnight in Moni.
DAY 03:
MONI – KELIMUTU – ENDE – BAJAWA (B, L, D)
Before dawn, drive to Kelimutu for the sunrise over the three-coloured crater lakes then go on to Ndua Ria for the traditional village and fruit & vegetable market. The town of Ende is your lunch stop. Your trip continues to Bajawa, stopping on the way at the Blue Stone beach, and also a traditional Ngada tribal village. By late afternoon, you’ll check in at your hotel in Bajawa.
DAY 04:
BAJAWA – FULL DAY TOUR (B, L, D)
In the morning visit Langa and Bena, the oldest and most significant traditional villages in Flores. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to a hot spring in Soa village. Dinner is at a local restaurant, overnight at hotel.
Day 05:
BAJAWA – RUTENG (B, L, D)
On the way to Ruteng, stop for lunch at a local restaurant and visit Rana Mese crater lakes deep in the forest, surrounded by stunning rice terraces. Dinner and overnight in Ruteng.
DAY 06:
RUTENG – LABUAN BAJO
LABUHAN BAJO – RINCA – KALONG BY BOAT, OVERNIGHT ON BOARD (B, L, D)
Continue the trip to Labuan Bajo and, on the way, visit Cancar (pronounces as chanchar) with its unique, delicate spiders’ web rice field, named Lingko. At Labuhan Bajo set sail to Rinca Island. Your boat passes through narrow straits with very strong currents; you can see water swirls created by the turbulence. This safari-like island is one of the homes to the komodo dragon. Its natural inhabitants also include hundreds of deer, wild water buffalo, and monkeys. At sunset, sail to Kalong Island to see huge colonies of bats set out to search for food. Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 07:
KALONG – KOMODO – PINK BEACH – BIDADARI – LABUHAN BAJO (B, L, D)
After seeing thousands of bats return to Kalong for their day nap, we set sail to Komodo. We arrive in Komodo and follow the trail to reach Banunggulung, where the giant komodo dragons laze (about 2 km one way walk). After lunch on the boat, visit Pantai Merah – famous for its pink sand beach – with its beautiful coral garden, good for swimming and snorkeling, or just simply relaxing. On the way back to Labuan Bajo, stop at Bidadari Island (meaning ‘Angel Island’) for more snorkeling and swimming in crystal waters, surrounded by beautiful coral and myriads of fish. DAY 08:
LABUAN BAJO – NEXT DESTINATION (B, _, _)
After breakfast, free until departing to the airport. Transfer to the airport for your next destination.
